Last June 30, 2008 Google announced that their AdSense Refferal is now retiring and Google Affiliate Network is becoming their new program for both Advertisers and Publishers.

Google acquire DoubleClick Performics last March 2008.  Just like any other Affiliate program Google’s Affiliate Network works the same, someone clicks the ad on your site -> buys that product -> you get commission.  With some new features added and enhanced systems, Google’s Affiliate Program could be the best program for publishers to monetize with.

If you are still using the referral ads program you might want to monetize it till last week of August 2008.  And Google suggests the you should remove the referral code from your site(s). This is not going to be easy specially for those who are managing multiple websites who do have referral codes, patience is all you need, this is all for you.  So the deadline is last week of August 2008.

Coming from the Mozilla Developer Center, they have announced that this coming June 17, 2008 they will be releasing Firefox 3 Officially.  They made it ready this coming tuesday, be sure youd better grab it on the day it will be released.

Back from the Spread Firefox HQ which there have been million pledges already, them seem to be ready for its release and so am I.  But with those million pledges, will that be an assurance that we could really set a Guiness World Record?  What would be your opinion?  Well, quoting from the Mozilla Developer Center “Put on your party hats and get ready to download Firefox 3 — the best web browser, period.”

Noticed any changes on Google’s Favicon? We’ll Google is a big multinational company, aside from being very popular of which I know some of you made Google your default home page, you might have noticed that they’ve changed their Favicon.  Here are their set of Favicon Family.

But have you ever heard why Google changed their Favicon after all those years? Well Marissa Mayer stated on Google’s Blog that “The reason is that we wanted to develop a set of icons that would scale better to some new platforms like the iPhone and other mobile devices”.

Although some users didn’t like the new icon, personally I like the Favicon for Mobile and now I will be missing the “G” icon.

Creating these icons went into a lot of iterations, searching for the best that they were looking for.  Below are the iterations that they’ve made before coming up with the Favicon Family set.  Now that they are still open for suggestions and new ideas, you are welcome to send your own design to Google.  You may send it to Google Favicon Ideas and be sure to read the Terms and Agreement.

Firefox is getting close to a million pledges already and it really amaze me.  When I started to have my pledge it was just about 25,000+ pledges already.  If this number continues to grow and when the time is set to release Firefox 3 I’m pretty much sure and confident that were getting it there and will have this mission to be a success which is to Set a World Guinness Record.

Ever tried visiting a website with a catchy name and ever want to visit it again? So, how do you visit it again? That’s right! you put that name in your browsers address and the extension .com or .net and you hit enter! And your back again on his website! Simple eh?

I guess you already figured it out how you would like visitors remember you.  This time I’ll be sharing you some common tips on how visitors would remember you.  I assume you already had a good name, well if not, I suggest you should be reading A Good Idea A Good Name.

“Your Name Should Match Your Domain Name”

It is easy to remember if your name do matches your domain name let say for example Twitter their website is twitter.com, Friendster which is friendster.com, Facebook again facebook.com and the famous search engines Google and Yahoo which is google.com and yahoo.com. Easy to remember right? Absolutely!

Its not just the name, a lot of company right now are having their names as their logo which are designed creatively.

There are websites also which do have a dash sign ( - ) on their domain, like http://www.cebu-directories.com and my company name is “cebu directories“ only and the same with my logo “cebu directories“ too.  A lot of visitors are very visual so what they tend to remember is “cebu directories” so when they logged in to your website they might access it using http://www.cebudirectories.com instead of your real domain which is the http://www.cebu-directories.com.  It’s not your fault that you could have bought the cebudirectories.com, I believe someone may have bought that domain.  So be creative think outside the box, think like a visitor because you yourself is a visitor too.

3. Social Bookmarking - familiar with bookmarking? add your articles / posts to social bookmarking sites like del.icio.us, stumbleUpon, Digg, Technorati and a lot more.
4. Be Sociable - be sociable with other bloggers whom you have the same interest or not.  Make friends with them, discuss with them give comments if you feel to.  Keep in touch with them as they will too with you.  Join forum boards too you might get visitors from that board, discuss and discuss.
5. You need to be Technical - sometimes you need to be technical too, I know some of you are going to back off when it comes to technicalities.  What I’m trying to tell you is that you need to optimize your website too for it to appear on search engines.  Don’t worry there are plugins to help you with your optimization.

It’s not just about 5 Tips to Promote your Website but there are actually plenty of them, I did just put them into one thought and itemize them.  There billions of viewers out there waiting for your site to be read, all you need to do is Promote Your Website and you could actually earn thousands and even millions and that is how you Make Money Online,  Promote Your Website Now!!
