What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is the latest and popular way on how to Make Money Online. Affiliate Marketing is an online marketing practice in which a company or a business compensates one or more affiliates for bringing a visitor or a customer to them. This could also be termed as Referral Program.

To define it in a simple way and even a 10 year old kid would understand it, Affiliate Marketing is an art of making money online with other people’s products.

How to do it?

First, you have to identify which affiliate program has something to do with your business. This is about picking up the right affiliate program on your niche. I know that its easy to attract visitor and customers if your selling a product that is related on your niche. Next is you have to sign up on your Affiliate Program of your choice.  I suggest that when signing up, you have to choose those programs who are on top 5 or should I say on the top affiliate programs because much more to mention they give quality services and they are reliable already.

How do affiliates make money?

Don’t worry affiliate networks pays affiliates.  You get your commission.

Affiliate networks offers several types of commission system:

  • Pay Per Action (PPA) / Cost Per Action (CPA) - Affiliate gets a commission whenever a customer makes an action on the Merchants website.  Action like signing up for free trial or registering on that Merchants website.
  • Pay Per Lead (PPL) - This is quite similar with Pay Per Action driving the customer to make an action on the Merchant’s website but this time giving a lead to the merchant by making the customer provide its personal information.
  • Pay Per Click (PPC) - Affiliate gets a commission whenever a visitor clicks on the link and leads it the Merchants website.
  • Pay Per Sale (PPS) - Affiliate gets a percentage on the sale.  Say a visitor clicks on the link, gets interested on that Hot Stuff and bought it right away! Affiliate gets a commission!
