South East Asia is home to over 7000 tropical islands and the Philippines is just one of them. The Philippines is often missed by tourists as the location of the island is thought as being on the South China seas wrong side, and people who want to visit this fabulous island have to go the extra mile just to get to it. Once they have travelled to this island they realised what all the fuss is about. The Philippines is idyllic with sandy white beaches and deep blue sea, it is every inch the perfect holiday getaway. It is a perfect holiday for anybody who is wanting to snorkel and experience all the fish and plantation which live under the sea, and it is a great place to relax and sunbathe. The people in the Philippines are friendly and always happy to help. The Philippines does have two seasons one wet and one dry. The wet season is usually from June to September and the dry season is usually from November to May, though in recent years weather patterns have become rather unpredictable so the sunny weather cannot always be guaranteed.
The hottest temperatures in the Philippines are usually reached around May and can reach up to 38ºC. Between the months of December and January you can expect lower temperatures, but these are by no means cool and do still hover around the 25ºC mark. The rainfall often comes down heavily and all of a sudden, so there is no time to pre plan, because of the heavy down pours it is quite usually to experience flash flooding. The Philippines are also known to experience around 20 typhoons a year, with these typhoons comes strong wind, rain which causes millions of pounds worth of damage. These typhoons do usually occur between June to September which is notorious for being the wet season, but these can occur at any time, and by travelling between October and May doesn’t mean that you won’t experience one of these typhoons.
There is plenty to see, do and experience within the Philippines but please be aware that if you are travelling around the Christmas and New Year break, that booking in advance is essential as all the accommodation gets booked up with Filipino workers who come home to spend time with their family.
