Seesmic has aquired Twhirl!

April4

Flash News from TechCrunch caught my attention from their headline announcing that Seesmic Acquires Popular Twitter AIR Client Twhirl”.

Twhirl Application

So what is Twhirl?

Twhirl is a third party desktop application for Twitter based on Adobe AIR platform. Most of the things that you could do on Twitter you could do it on Twhirl. On top of that as Twhirl featureyou could connect to multiple Twitter accounts, you could customize your Twhirl skin, filter replies and more features click here. Twhirl was created by Marco Kaiser a web and software developer.

Now that you’ve read from above that Seesmic acquired Twhirl, you might be asking what is Seesmic behind the back of your head. I too just found out about that company just a while ago.

What is Seesmic?

Seesmic is a video / chat service and is like a social media networking web application focusing on videos. Like any other services this is bundled with some cool features also like recording a video, switch into different language and see here for more. Watch their video or register if you to have your own experience.

From TechCrunch’s announcement they haven’t included yet how much Seesmic acquired Twhirl. I’m sure its probably a big amount! Seeing Twhirl, it is a great application, a killer application I say.

I want to try Adobe AIR. The concept of Web technologies being run on desktops is cool.

I’m using Spaz as my twitter client, BTW. It uses Adobe AIR too. I wonder what other applications we can create… Hmmm….
